Do I need teaching experience to teach in China?

No. Many positions in China will accept candidates at entry level, and will provide orientation and ongoing training on Teaching Skills and further Professional Development throughout the term of employment.

If you have any previous teaching or teaching related experience, then that certainly makes you competitive and there are several (usually higher paid) positions that require teaching experience.

Additionally, if you have 2 years of demonstrable teaching related Post-Graduate Experience, you will not be required to complete a TEFL qualification to attain a Visa for many parts of China.
