Introduction

Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE) is an arm of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.  JESIE acts as the Government’s formal Recruitment and Training Organization for Foreign Teachers living and working in Nanjing, Wuxi and other cities in Jiangsu Province.

JESIE recruit passionate, enthusiastic and internationally minded Graduates and Professional Teachers to a wide range of positions. Whether you are just starting out, or have been teaching for several years, JESIE are able to provide teaching roles at, Primary, Middle and High Schools across Jiangsu’s Public School Network, and particularly in Nanjing and Wuxi.

The Role

Teachers at JESIE work mainly in either Nanjing (the capital of Jiangsu Province and China’s old capital) and Wuxi. There are positions available in other cities and locations across Jiangsu province as well.

Teaching positions are available at Primary School Level (aged 7-12) Middle School Level (aged 13-15) or High School Level (aged 16-18).

Bi-lingual Teaching Assistants will be on-hand to help teachers keep discipline during classes and for translation purposes.

All JESIE contracts are for one academic year.

Teaching positions are Monday to Friday (weekends off), 18-20 teaching hours per week, no fixed office hours.

The minimum requirement for a Teaching Role at JESIE  is a Bachelors Degree (any subject), 120 hour TEFL Certification and a Passport from a Native English Speaking Country

RMB8000-12000 monthly salary for ESL teachers, based on experience

RMB12000+ monthly salary for licenced teachers with extensive prior experience

Training and Orientation

All JESIE Teachers receive ongoing training from a Western Management and Training Team with many years experience teaching ESL in China. Additionally, all new JESIE Teachers participate in a special 1 week Orientation Training Program, giving new teachers the tools to hit the ground running ahead of their first classes in China!
