School Introduction

Accolade English Institute was originally established in 2005. Now, this institute is at the forefront of quality English tuition in the Wanzhou district of Chongqing. Located in the CBD area of Wanzhou, Accolade English Institute caters to students of all ages and levels, from kindergarten through to college/university and adult. As the only government licensed independent school in Wanzhou, Accolade English Institute employs the services of teaching professionals from all over the world. Accolade English Institute is committed to providing the best English tuition for Chinese students, and the best living and working conditions for foreign teachers. In 2008, Accolade English Institute was awarded “Best English Tuition Center” by the Wanzhou District Branch of The Chong qing Municipal Education Commission. In 2009, Accolade English Institute sent ten students to “The Star of Outlook English Talent Competition”, which is the most renowned English competition in Chongqing. Eight of these students advanced to the semi-final, with two progressing to the final in Beijing, which was broadcast on CCTV 10. In 2011, Accolade English Institute sent eighteen students to “The Star of Outlook English Talent Competition”, which is the most renowned English competition in Chong Qing. Two of these students respectively won the championships of Primary Student Group and High School Student group, and they both progressed to the final in Beijing, which was broadcast on CCTV 10.

Accolade’s friendly team is made up of foreign teachers and local teachers who work closely together. There are currently foreign teachers from a variety of countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S.A. working at the school.

The school has a well-stocked resource library with course books, flashcards and other useful teaching aids. In addition, we have all the typical resources found in most modern schools such as computers, photocopiers, printers, and wireless internet access.

Courses

Accolade English offer a variety of English courses to suit students of all ages and abilities, although most students are young learners. The main courses are:

Super Tots [3 to 6 year olds]

High Flyers [6 to 10 year olds]

Trailblazers [10 to 16 year olds]

In addition to these courses the school offer variety of other courses at different times of year and/or subject to demand. These include:

• Summer & winter intensive courses
• Conversation classes

Accolade also teach classes at a local high school.

Classes cover all aspects of English but focus on speaking and listening. Teachers aim to make the classes as fun and enjoyable for the students as possible so that they enjoy their time with us.

Salary Package

• RMB 11,000-13,000 per month (dependent on experience)
• Modern furnished 2 bedroom apartment provided, shared with one other teacher
• One-way flight reimbursement awarded within first 2 months of work
• RMB3000 travel allowance awarded after one year.

Position responsibilities and other requirements

Teaching Language:  English

Average Class Size:  25~30 students/class

Courses:  Oral English, Reading, Writing

Workload:  20 teaching hours (25 classes) per week (45 minutes per class hour), 5 days per week

Teaching Venue:  On campus

Class Times:  Morning, Afternoon

Important information for potential applicants

(1) Preference will be given to experienced applicants who hold a degree in any discipline, in addition to a TEFL/ TESOL certificate (or equivalent qualification).
