I’m a native Texan from a small rural town with a population of 90. I studied Communications in Austin, Texas and moved to China not long after graduation when I was set up with a teaching job in Chengdu through Opportunity China. I grew up in the classroom, as my mother is a teacher, but I had basically no experience when I started teaching. I love to travel and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to really get to know a new culture and it has been everything I hoped it would be and more. I love living in China, the differences in culture, food, and language has been fascinating, and I have found the teaching to be incredibly rewarding. It is an indescribable feeling as your students slowly gain the ability to communicate with you.
