Founded in 1983, HESS International Educational Group is the largest and most recognized private language school in Taiwan.
HESS employs more than 600 native English-speaking teachers in 180+ HESS schools in Taipei and across Taiwan. Hess emphasise a stable and structured work environment, enabling progression opportunities and support from start to finish.
Teachers at HESS work a minimum of 20 teaching hours per week- Monday to Saturday- with a maximum of 4 classes per day. All office hours are unsupervised, allowing for a great deal of flexibility, including the option to take ‘gap hours’ out of office.

Qualifications and Eligibility

 

Education: Teachers must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or an Associates degree from a recognized University accompanied by a TEFL Certificate.

Experience: Applications are welcome to candidates with all levels of experience. If you do have teaching experience or experience working with children this would be preferable. Candidates must be a minimum of 22 years old at point of application

 

 

Training and Support

 

Upon arrival with HESS, all new teachers will receive an initial 10 days of training at the Main Office followed by 1-2 weeks of branch observation upon arrival at their school.

Branch training allows teachers to observe classes before gradually easing into their own. Follow-up observations of teacher’s classes will be conducted throughout year. Western management (i.e. HNST Head Native Speaking Teacher) present at each branch to provide guidance and support to new and current teachers.
